The Pitum: There is a well known Halacha that if the Pitum (small flower and stem that grows at the top of many Etrogim) breaks, the Etrog is Pasul - unfit for use. This law applies only to those Etrogim where the Pitum has broken off. Many Etrogim grow without the Pitum, and are perfectly fit for the Mitzvah. Etrogim without Pitums avoid the problem of breakage during shipping, however we do offer Etrogim with Pitums by request.
